We roll out of San Antonio and the Hill Country on US-87, tracing that northwest line through Fredericksburg, Mason, and Brady before the limestone hills flatten into the West Texas plains around San Angelo and Big Spring. From there it climbs up through Lubbock and Amarillo, across the high plains to Dalhart, and into New Mexico at Clayton and Raton — the same corridor whether the load starts in San Antonio, Boerne, or Kerrville.
The dramatic stretch is Raton Pass, where I-25 tops out near 7,800 feet at the Colorado line before dropping into Trinidad. From there it's pure I-25 North — Walsenburg, Pueblo, Colorado Springs, over the Palmer Divide at Monument Hill, then Castle Rock and into the Denver metro with the Rockies stacked up on your left the whole way.
