Off the clock, life orbits Bellevue Downtown Park, the Bellevue Botanical Garden, Mercer Slough Nature Park, and Cougar Mountain's trail network, with Snoqualmie Pass skiing under an hour east and the new 2 Line light rail now connecting the downtown core.

The logistics of getting you moved in vary sharply by neighborhood, and a good Bellevue moving company plans for it. A Downtown Bellevue high-rise means reserving a freight elevator and loading dock and sending your building a certificate of insurance before load-in; a Somerset address means a big van has to negotiate steep, curving hillside grades, sometimes with a smaller shuttle for the last climb; Bridle Trails homes sit far back on large wooded lots down narrow lanes with no curbs or sidewalks; and lakeside driveways in Enatai or Newport Hills can be tight and short. Be honest with yourself on space, too: Bellevue is one of the priciest markets in Washington, so the same budget that buys Hill Country acreage around Boerne or Kerrville generally buys a smaller lot and less square footage on the Eastside. The trade many families make happily — Washington, like Texas, has no state income tax, so a jump to Eastside tech salaries isn't clawed back — but the market is competitive and the sales tax is high, so go in with clear eyes.
