How we plan professional offices moves
A professional office rarely has much heavy furniture. What it has is paper, people, and a calendar it cannot move. A law firm measures its file room by the linear foot. A CPA practice cannot lose a week between January and mid-April. An insurance agency needs every agent back at the right phone on the first morning. The planning for these moves is mostly about sequence and labels, and that is where we spend the time.
We start with a walk through the current suite and the new one, then build a room-by-room label plan so every desk, chair, return, and file box is tagged to a seat on the new floor plan. Active work gets packed last and unpacked first. Closed files and archive boxes travel as their own group so they never get mixed into someone's desk contents. When a practice wants certain cabinets sealed or kept locked, that is the practice's call, and the crew moves them exactly as they are handed over.
Most San Antonio office buildings, from the downtown towers to the office parks along Loop 410, the 281 corridor near the airport, and Stone Oak, set their own move rules. Expect a freight-elevator reservation, a dock window, floor and wall protection requirements, and a Certificate of Insurance naming the building. Send us the building's move packet and we will tell you which insurance documents we can supply before the date is set. Evening and weekend windows are available when your lease or your clients make a weekday move impractical.
A few things belong to other people. Your IT contact handles network and server cutover; our crew disconnects, pads, moves, and reconnects the desk-level equipment. Your phone and internet providers schedule their own work. A furniture dealer installing a new system does that install, and we clear the old furniture out ahead of them.
If your move is a general office suite, start with our office moving page. If you run a specific kind of practice, pick it below; each page covers the files, timing, and questions that belong to that kind of office.

Professional Offices Moving FAQs
Another question? Call (830) 329-7272.
How do you keep attorneys, agents, or accountants from losing a working day to the move?
We plan the move around the dates your practice cannot give up and label each person's desk, files, and equipment to a seat on the new floor plan. Active work is packed last and unpacked first, so the people who need it most are working before the archive boxes are even unloaded.
Can closed files and archive boxes move separately from active desks?
Yes. Archive and closed-file boxes are counted, labeled as their own group, and loaded apart from desk contents, so they land in the file room or storage closet at the new suite instead of in someone's office. Tell us whether any cabinets need to stay locked or sealed and we move them as handed over.
What does my office building usually need from a mover?
Usually a freight-elevator reservation, a dock or loading window, floor and wall protection, and a Certificate of Insurance naming the building and management company. Rules differ between downtown towers and suburban office parks, so send us the building's move packet and we confirm what we can provide before the date is booked.
